It is a national level agency that assists handlooms for the speedy development of handloom sector through organized supply of all the inputs at reasonable cost. NHDC also helps by providing assistance for upgradation of technology to the handloom sector. NHDC was established in February 1983 as an autonomous body under the companies act of 1956.
